I later bought a little 1OZ bottle and felt confused: it smelled cheaper, more soapy and sharp than the tester had (I later found out that the tester was a somewhat older, richer formulation which still had oak moss – my bottle has none.) It's pretty busy up front, and I think I can even smell iris maybe, citrus, and a really elegant dustyness maybe patchouli or cedar as well. Dated? Great for the collector and old heads out there. I read and I don't remember where the change in perfume formulation occurred due to the fact that one of the components of the original formula, used ferohormone-type oil cruelly extracted from a typical Himalayan type of goat and this is not absolutely correct, but they should look for another product, perhaps of vegetable origin, to get closer to the original perfume. This scent reminds me of my grandfather. Azzaro PH and RL Safari will be my go-to fragrances for those suit and tie events. It was a little more flat and slight than I would have thought based on reviews I’d read. Unfortunately and shamefully this is the kind of men's fragrance which is hard to find. Clean, refined, confident, and masculine. It's apart of the beginners guide of men's cologne. Azzaro pour Homme was among the first fragrances I ever had. It is probably the one scent that if I had to have just one - this would be it. there are plenty of iris scents for men on the market today, but this is an elegant scent from the late 70's for men. picked up 100ml for $20 and totally satisfied. The top-heavy sweetish boyish crap that is so trendy at the moment couldn't hold a candle to the seriousness of this powerhouse. The projection is pretty good, and lasts all day. Rules to use these old perfumes after 40 years of adding water, till now which it is bottle of water with splash of reformulated ( with some missing notes ) perfume: Starts off with an intense blast of sherbet lemons (UK sweets) which gradually fades into a lemon tea mid. The dry down is diverse -- spicy, leathery, musky...it's strange how it gives me a sense of calming. It doesn't even demand a different taste to appreciate it - you just have to be open minded and free from the slavery of the modern-era bubble-gummy fragrances. The problem with this fragrance is that it doesn't really stand out among the others of it's kind. Become a member of this online perfume community and you will be able to add your own reviews. kinda like a musky lavender soap and some aromatics citrus and botanicals mixed in. A Classic that belongs in everyone collection, Refreshing and strong. Azzaro is also smoother and less bracing, thanks to the amber and musk accord. Not a big fan of that type of fragrances. I was surprised to enjoy this as much as I did considering I don't really enjoy anise in food very much. Todays edition has nothing to do with the one from 80's, my advice - buy a vintage one. Pity. It was only when reading the 'Pour Monsieur' blog that I realised that my taste in scents coincided with the author, whose declared favourite is Azzaro, so I bought on his recommendation. Some friends of mine said then, that I smelled like some sort of toilet refreshener with leather and incense, hah. On skin, it is a lavender soapy bomb. And let me surprise those who still are bound to this servitude: Azzaro PH when launched was one the most EZ to please fragrances in this genre and one of the sexiest panty droppers of its time. I like it. Now I still can't accept the fact that he passed away eleven months ago. Works every day, any season, any time. The scent cut right through the cigarette smoke in the car. I have sample and have worn this now couple times. Powerhouse frag. Current formulations are a "big-no-no" for me, maybe they substituted oakmoss with evernyl, maybe proportions have changed, I don't know, but no way. I get the Pinaud Clubman aftershave scent reminder from the opening. Azzaro Pour Homme has been called many things, but I most often hear it called "the ultimate barbershop fragrance" which is a title I think it deserves. The scent pyramid is vast (I admit I cannot identify all the listed scents when I wear this), but the melange is supremely satisfying. It's a very gentlemanly and elegant scent, I love to wear it almost anytime of the day/year. Only recently noticed that they shared the same creator. Got it home and really liked it but wound up gifting to a male family member, thinking it would better suit a male. Good for fall or a cool summer night out. It's not necessarily just for a super macho man... but certainly for a mature man 30+ with class. Current version smells fantastic but lasts about 25 minutes. It wasn’t awful, but the complexity of the notes that really gave it character (anise, lavender, fennel, sage and basil) seemed undermined by synthetics that are also in play, with the soapy musk in the heart being both sharp and shallow (a little headache inducing) before it faded to a skin scent. Nothing comes close. I was first introduced to Azzaro PH years ago by one of my college roommates, he was from Iraq and had A decent fragrance collection..I will never forget when he said , "Hey smell this it's my new favorite! 5 with Not sure how its perceived by others who get close but I love it. Spray 5 or 6 times and it lasts all day, but normally I just do 1 or 2, and then one to the wrist. To my nose, the juice in the bottles now sold in Europe is not the same as the juice of just a few years ago. Yes. Fantastic scent for summer evenings, warm cossy but spicy. Starts with that burst of lemony urinal cake industrial cleaner we all know and love. It doesn't make me feel anything though because it is so middle of the road. The drydown had its moments, but felt as if pieces of the puzzle were missing (something I have noticed in other reformulations of leather fragrances, notably Dior Fahrenheit). I keep getting wiffs of myelf. | Deutsch | Español | Français | Italiano | Русский | Polski | Português | Ελληνικά | 汉语 | Nederlands | Srpski | Română | العربية | Українська | Монгол | עברית | Luxois Watches | I would call it balsamic. The dry down is nice enough, but to me not as satisfying as the opening. Fragrance Reviews: 997952 It's not dated to my nose, but at the same time, being the age that I am, its nostalgic. That was in 1989. All I get is lavender and some manly barber shop stink.. kinda boring. Amazing barbershop feel, it doesn't smell dated because many barber shops still smell like this nowadays! I love to wear this on days I attend an important meeting for a real morale boost. As I continue a bit of a fragrance time travel I'm glad I've found and added this to my collection. I love this fragrance, I've been buying it since 2017, it's a nice manly scent, I just wish it was heavier richer scented that lasts all day, but a part from that, I love it.. To me, it sets this fragrance apart from others, and makes it stand out in my collection. In my home where I store fragrance I segregate fragrances based on scent family (barbershops, ouds, leathers, citruses, aquatics, gourmands, ambers etc). I have the current formulation, Tuscany Per Uomo, and Ralph Lauren Safari. Simply irresistible! Lavender, anise, oakmoss and maybe some kind of leather are the most prominent. It reminds me of Ralph Lauren Safari, but more dark and powdery. Yes, it's an older style fragrance. The opening is a bit harsh and will not please everyone, but dry-down after 20-30 min is amazing. I've tried various incarnations of this scent, and can confirm that the current version is true to the original. Extremely outdated scent, reminds me Mary Kay Tribute for men (my father used to wear). Only sexy people can pull this off. Isn't there someone at Azzaro who's smart enough to keep this masterpiece unchanged while finding a way to give it a little more lasting power?
