DMCA requests | by Gearhead93, The Mana God That being said, I’d like to make a few suggestions to help guide you toward a more consistent and powerful Golos deck. Format: Commander User Submitted Deck Deck Date: Oct 27, 2020 Archetype: Kruphix, God of Horizons. Mana symbols in the text boxes of permanents you control don't count toward your devotion to any color. It’s already looking a lot slicker and I can see you’ve made some very fun looking changes to how the deck plays. Contact | One of my friends runs a very high powered Omnath deck and I like the thought of a U/G "Omnath". Journey Into Nyx. The wincons of this deck are the combos listed in the description, which are pretty consistent. While his semi-hexproof ability (3 more mana to target) seems nifty, that is one of the only really powerful highlight abilities of this card, meaning that ability is protecting a relatively low-powered card. It continues to be a legendary enchantment. Powerful green ramp + Prophet of Kruphix or Seeborn Muse and Vedalken Orrery still let you spend massive mana, even if you can't save it up for a 40 card Stroke of Genius. I encourage you to try and pay attention to what situations you find yourself in, as that’s often the best way to tell what cards you need to cut or add to the deck for it to work best. Heliod, God of the Sun Theros (M) 5/6 Leg Enchantment Cr - God $5.49 . I just honestly think you’d rather have a removal spell (Beast Within, Mythos of Nethroi) instead of this cat any day. Specifically, a hybrid mana symbol counts only once toward your devotion to its two colors. 7 mana for an 8/8 is pretty standard and giving your opponents tokens (that they could just attack you with or sacrifice to an effect) can be a bad idea in some situations, such as when they have an Beastmaster Ascension or a similar effect on the field. I agree, I don't think tokens are the best way to make use of Kruphix' unique powers. Do you have any underrated cards in EDH? If I decide to up my budget requirements, I may go for Helm of the Host although I do own a copy in another deck. EDH Recommendations and strategy content for Magic: the Gathering Commander I'm mainly trying to play to his humble core strength of stocking up absurd amounts of cards and mana. If you would lose unspent manal, that mana becomes colourless instead. Empowered Autogenerator – this card is vastly too slow to be considered a true Ramp card. As long as Kruphix is on the battlefield, unused mana will remain in your mana pool as steps and phases end (although it will become colorless). If unused mana in your mana pool has any restrictions or riders associated with it. Enter the Infinite into Omniscience is still in the cards though. As a default, I’d consider making a few of the changes I mentioned in the Broad Suggestion section, as those changes should just generally help with your deck’s consistency. If it doesn't work out there it could go here. Titanoth Rex – still keep this guy because he is a threat that isn’t dead in your hand on turn 5. Sparkhunter Masticore - This little fellow has a major drawback and no seriously crazy abilities that make him worthwhile. © 2020 MagicFind, Inc. All rights reserved. Examples include Mythos of Nethroi, Beast Within, Price of Fame, Reality Shift, Terminate, Return to Nature, Putrefy, Utter End, Eat to Extinction, Murderous Rider, etc. How's your game against stax? The key is finding a way to levarage the most amount of value in each individual card – even a 2 mana ramp spell will set you up to play all of your future spells 1 turn earlier than normal for the rest of the game, which can be an insane advantage when you think about it. This means you can add mana to your mana pool and spend it during a future step, phase, or turn. Just having those upsides alone though doesn’t make a card truly powerful. Terms of Use | “Am I happy or sad to be holding this card in my hand or drawing it off the top of my deck?” – If a card seems to constantly be ‘the wrong card’ for the situation, or you can never seem to cast it, or you always play other cards instead, or you tend to die while holding a certain card, then you probably want to think about how well that card fits in your deck and whether or not you should cut it or modify the deck to support it. Colossification - This aura is too expensive, taps your creature down, and worst of all is an aura. I really just want to help you get comfortable with deck building and learning what to look for in a ‘good’ or ‘bad’ card. Your devotion to two colors is equal to the number of mana symbols that are the first color, the second color, or both colors among the mana costs of permanents you control. That variant is the Minamo, School at Water's Edge Golos deck which also runs stuff like Vizier of Tumbling Sands, Fatestitcher, Kiora's Follower, and other payoffs like Jegantha, the Wellspring, or Captain Sisay. Having usurped command of the Simic Guild of Ravnica and wandered among the ruins of Zendikar he has returned to Theros in search of domination. He also governs navigation, mystery, and the cycles of time and is the keeper of mysteries that no others are meant to learn. Your Threats look great and I think your Sweepers are also appropriate. Though I think with Kruphix you might as well go directly for, Have you thought of playing beacon of tomorrows .... you already play the omniscience, enter the infinite combo.... the beacon allow you to go infinite turns lol. Please enable JavaScript to get the best experience from this site. He is fine, but really not much better than that. BASICally, the goal of the deck is to generate an absolutely unnecessary excess of resources, namely cards and mana, and then keep my opponent from trying to do the same... with big fancy X-spell permission spells! 4/7 Details. Not doing Sen Triplets as fun as it would be. I want to note I see a lot of ‘looting’ effects like the ones on Teferi, Master of Time or Obsessive Stitcher and while these cards are great for a graveyard strategy they still don’t count as card draw. The hydra tokens are a consolation prize, as well as being the only real blockers in my deck. I'll put them on the list of cards to add when I have the money. 4 cards I would definitely consider adding are Pygmy Hippo, Vorinclex, Jin-Gitaxias, and Helix Pinnacle. Your removal package looks like it needs a couple more additions to keep your deck responsive and able to handle imminent-doom type threats. I have only played 4 games with him with the tokens strategy and killed all 3 other players every time. If a God enters the battlefield, your devotion to its color. I'm am genuinely excited to get a build with this guy going as soon as I can get my hands on him. Kruphix, God of Horizons was in the deck at first, but got cut. Keep in mind, you could also run a bunch of cards with the ‘changeling’ keyword if you wanted to get really funky, in which case you may as well also play stuff like Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow, Reaper King, Crested Sunmare, The First Sliver but that’s a very slippery and insane slope that I’m not sure you want to get sucked into. If you’re interested in reusing Golos’s land finding ability I would recommend playing Soulherder instead. I found that you can still build up some impressive board states even without Kruphix. by mrbiggles123, Big Brain Plays - [[Primer]] 2014-04-26 Deck link here--https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/kruphix-says-ni-in-your-general-direction/. 2014-04-26 Kruphix, God of Horizons rulings: 2014-04-26: As long as Kruphix is on the battlefield, unused mana will remain in your mana pool as steps and phases end (although it will become colorless). 2014-04-26 I believe 100% that tokens is the best strategy for Kruphix. Each card besides one has less then 1,000 decks on EDHrec, and while some of the cycle are meta-specific, a couple of them should be staples. Yes he can deal with planeswalkers, but so can a Murderous Rider or an Eat to Extinction. A couple immediate alternatives come to mind for me; Geode Rager to force combat AND keep you safe, and Dream Trawler for a flying, hexproof, lifelinking, card drawing threat. Kruphix is the eldest of the gods. The enigmatic god has dominion over the potential, the distant, and the unseen. I might put in a few really big creatures, like Genesis Hydra just because I usually have tons of mana and not much to do with it. You mention the possibility of Kruphix being tucked, but how does your deck fare when you don't/can't cast Kruphix at all, ever? Please do let me know how you decide to tune your deck – it’s really fun to watch honestly, and I’m always down to help advise you. Additionally, try to find cards that do multiple things such as Chasm Skulker which gets bigger when you draw cards and also explodes into tokens when it dies, or even Ravenous Chupacabra which deals with a threat and also acts as a blocker when you are facing pressure.
